Our experience with David Ramsay of Amanda’s Verandas, unlike virtually every other company and tradesperson we’ve dealt with over the past 5 years of renovating our home, has been extremely positive in every respect.
Having found Amanda’s Verandas online (via Google), I emailed them with a detailed brief of what we were looking for - a veranda in RAL 7016 to match an existing one we had fitted 3 years ago. David emailed back the next day with a detailed specification and quote, giving an estimate of timing and providing me with photos of recent installations. His quote was very competitive so I emailed back to ask him to carry out a site visit, bringing material samples with him. Again, David responded within 24 hours and fixed a site survey for 2 days’ time. He arrived on time, brought numerous samples with him and was extremely professional and pedantic in his attention to detail (and a nice guy as well!).
On 6 May 2022 we received a very detailed specification for a veranda plus 2 Markilux blinds 4680mm x 2500. We accepted his quotation and timing and paid the initial deposit. The initial timing plan David had outlined has been spot on - the veranda was installed on 15 June and the Markilux blinds are being fitted next Saturday 16 July. The installation team for the veranda (3 men) was very impressive as they completed it in less than 4 hours and left the installation site spotless. We are 100% delighted with the veranda (just sorry we hadn’t known Amanda’s Verandas 3 years ago when we battled our way through the previous veranda purchase and installation).
We haven’t had the blinds installed as yet (due next Saturday) but feel supremely confident that we’ll be singing Amanda’s Verandas praises next Saturday evening as we sit - in much needed shade - under the new blinds!
I would have no hesitation whatsoever in highly recommending Amanda’s Verandas or David Ramsay. I should add that my initial email brief was also sent to 5 other companies who, in comparison with David, responded with sloppy, vague quotes and timing schedules.
I’m attaching photos of our new veranda installed on 15 June plus a photo of our original veranda that David is supplying Markilux blinds for, so nice (and rare) to be able to speak highly of a company.

It's always a big leap of faith using a company you know nothing about, but I have to say I am a complete convert. They've worked hard in terrible weather, arrived when they said they would and left the place clean and tidy at the end. Please reiterate my thanks to them. The canopy looks great and I'm really pleased with it. The tenants are going to be able to make much better use of the patio now and it's going to keep me well ahead of the competition in the local rental market for years to come. The kitchen extension has been waiting many years for me to completely finish it but I'm glad I delayed it until I could afford to get good people in to do it right.

The whole process was painless and professionally carried out.
The frame arrived a few days beforehand and the team came around 8am and worked tirelessly throughout the day to install the veranda. They even cleaned up after themselves and left the site cleaner than when they arrived! We have used the veranda every day and has made a superb addition to the house and created an extra indoors/outdoors room. We have added a patio set with gas fire-pit for a bit of extra warmth in the cold weather. Really impressed with Amanda’s Veranda’s and would not hesitate in recommending.
